Inbound/Outbound Specialist - Harrisonburg, VA

JOB SUMMARY: The Inbound/Outbound Specialist directs the work done in the QA and Shipping room, ensuring proper counts are kept of any and all product leaving the facility. They will be the primary contact for SGI’s “internal customers” or other sites receiving shipments from our Greenhouse. This person is responsible for ensuring standards of quality are achieved, ensuring safety and environmental compliance, and for handling all issues relating to the proper function of the department(s).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinates out-going product after QA has occurred
  • Responsible for communication with all Living Organic Herb sites nationwide regarding quantity and quality of product shipped
  • Verifies shipment quantity from other sites and alerts upper management of any abnormalities
  • Directs and leads in inspecting outgoing product to ensure quality standards are met
  • Helps to establish and define quality standards to ensure quality of product
  • Monitors, documents, and corrects any quality issues
  • Ensures compliance according to Food Safety certification and QA standards
  • Investigates inventory problems as needed
  • Plans the maintenance of the QA/Shipping area
  • Drives continuous improvement throughout the department
  • Works on multiple, simultaneous projects, requiring proper time management
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as required or assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School or equivalent
  • 1-3 yrs. of computer experience specifically Microsoft Office and excel
  • 1-3 yrs. of experience in a related position with an emphasis in a QA or shipping/receiving position
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a related position with an emphasis in a QA or shipping/receiving position
  • Prior experience with OSHA, HACCP, and GMP is a plus
  • Bilingual, English & Spanish
