Night Shift Logistics Data Entry Associate - Harrisonburg, VA

JOB SUMMARY:

The Data Entry Associate updates, organizes, and maintains accurate data at the Logistics/ Transportation Department. The teammate in this position is highly organized, detail-oriented, and can work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Transportation Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintains department records including purchase order generation & invoice reconciliation.
  • Provides oversight of department spending weekly & notifies Transportation Manager about any concern.
  • Processes & analyzes various spending & other transportation related reports on an as needed basis.
  • Oversees accurate processing & record-keeping of drivers’ logs and safety reports.
  • Works independently to resolve issues & communicates with the Manager when additional input is needed.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers concerning planning, scheduling, RFQ’s, troubleshooting & issue resolutions.
  • Facilitates interdepartmental communication.
  • Maintains high level of confidentiality with all data, including personnel information of delivery drivers.
  • Attends training sessions to stay up to date on DOT & other regulations as needed.
  • Maintains a clean working environment.
  • Adheres to all Safety & Food Safety requirements.
  • Reports and is accountable for notifying the Manager of observed safety concerns.
  • Maintains information using the computer and paper files
  • Enters data for other reports as requested
  • Verifies data and correct data when necessary
  • Obtains further information for incomplete documents
  • Complies with data integrity and security policies
  • Maintains own office equipment and stationery supplies
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One-year data entry experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word or similar software preferred
  • Excellent keyboarding skills
  • Good organizational skills
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Experience in the Logistics/Distribution field
  • Positive attitude
  • Accurate keyboard skills and proven ability to enter data at the required speed
  • Knowledge of correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation
  • Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Decision making and communication skills
  • Confidentiality
  • Ability to work under pressure
