REGIONAL LOGISTICS SALES REPRESENTATIVE

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Regional Logistics Sales Representative (RLSR) solicitates business serviced within the transportation department. This position secures and maintains customers, negotiates freight rates, submits pricing, negotiates contracts, schedules meetings with existing and potential customers, maintains accurate records; including, call schedules, meeting notes, pricing tariff’s and contracts.  The RLSR is a strategic leader for and passionate advocate for Shenandoah Growers and our customers.  The RLSR reports to the VP of National Logistics. The RLSR will have the opportunity to lead projects and actively participate in larger strategic company initiatives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Builds relationships with existing and potential customers
  • Develops strategic sales plan(s) that meets the objectives as set forth by the VP of National Logistics
  • Travels via car or plane to different states to meet customers
  • Provides support to operations when addressing customer needs or issues
  • Communicates with all personnel, including loaders, members at the Packaging Houses and Greenhouses to ensure the timely delivery of our customer’s product
  • Possess the ability to creatively think and make sound business decisions
  • Works independently to resolve issues and communicates accordingly
  • Provides exceptional and timely customer service at all times to internal and external customers with respect to planning, scheduling, RFQs, troubleshooting & issue resolution
  • Assists with product deliveries when needed and as department staffing needs dictate
  • Attends training sessions on DOT, OSHA, and FMSAother regulations as needed in order be in Compliance
  • Participation in Sales growth and training meetings. Attendance for all other training within the company as required
  • Accepts challenges and deals positively and embraces diversity
  • Maintains a clean work environment
  • Adheres to all Safety and Food Safety policies and procedures
  • Immediately reports of any observed safety concerns
  • Performs other duties as directed by management
  • Works well with all teammates

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work environment is generally an office setting but periodically includes packaging facility/farm and grounds of both SGI and external customers’ sites.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-4 Years of experience in Sales Logistics or comparable field
  • High school diploma required
  • Working knowledge of quality systems, food safety programs
  • Requires ability to travel as needed to Company’s sites and meet customers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Office 365 programs
  • Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record
  • Highly organized and detailed oriented
  • Knows how to manage overlapping projects and keep track of deadlines
  • Effective communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate ability to lead and motivate people
  • Strong analytical thinker with problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and external customers

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish
