Shenandoah Growers, Inc. “SGI” is actively hiring a Recruiter to be part of our team at SGI. This position will actively be involved in our full-cycle recruiting process in Headquarters located in Harrisonburg, VA. The teammate must have a strong work ethic and organizational skills.  The Recruiter will partner with Sr. & Corporate Recruiters to meet the departmental recruitment goals. The Recruiter must have strong knowledge of all hiring, onboarding and new hire activities. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources and dotted line to the Corporate Recruiter.


  • Screens resumes, applications, interview candidates (by phone, electronically, or in-person), administer appropriate assessments and reference/background checking, makes recommendations for hire (or not hire) and prepares and delivers written employment offers as needed per management
  • Participates in all recruitment events and delivers information about active openings
  • Ensures all recruiting, interviewing and onboarding processes are legally compliant and follow recruiting practices approved by the Director of Human Resources or the Sr. Corporate Recruiter
  • Partners closely with the Director of HR, Sr. Corporate Recruiter, Corporate Recruiter, to implement effective peak season recruiting strategies
  • Implements local advertising programs (internal and external) to ensure high visibility for potential candidates
  • Handles local site internal transfer process, including screening, coordination of interviews with the hiring manager, transfer offer letters, etc.
  • Follows up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding the recruiting process
  • Develops and maintains excellent relationships with internal and external customers to ensure the achievement of staffing goals and an optimal candidate/new hire experience
  • Obtains written approval from Payroll & Benefits Manager on final pay rates and communicates important employment information during delivery of employment offers (e.g., benefits, compensation, required agreements.)
  • Actively promotes teamwork, teammate satisfaction, open communication, cooperation, personal development, high standards of performance, and a sense of urgency and serves as the professional Corporate HR representative by communicating changes in the organization’s personnel policies and procedures
  • Works daily with a focus on continuous improvement and makes recommendations to the Sr. Corporate Recruiter and Director of HR for improvement of the organization’s policies, procedures, and practices
  • Adheres to all Company’s policies
  • Other duties might be assigned per management as needed


  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 Yrs. of recruiting experience
  • 2-3 Yrs. of office equipment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong both, verbal and written skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Excel, Outlook
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Bilingual, English & Spanish


  • Knowledge of ATS
  • Familiarity with Palocity system
